There are three new arrangements of the hymn, Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing. The goal was to create a piano accompaniment part that was suitable for learning how to accompany or sight-readable for church or performance.
It opens with a piano introduction, followed by the melody in the string part. In the second section, the piano has the melody while the string part has a countermelody. The third section brings the melody back to the string player.
In the violin version, the violin part can be played entirely in first position. A second-year player could be featured with this piece. In the viola version, two viola parts are supplied. One viola part is in first position, the other requires shifting. The cello version also has two parts. One which shifts, and one which is in first position. This allows the arrangement to be used for a variety of players by choosing the part that is the most logical for their development.
