The Composer is Dead

Greenville Symphony performed the “Composer is Dead” composed by Nathaniel Stookey with narration by Lemony Snicket last night.  The piece was well received by the audience with some tittering and guffaws at just the right places.  It was interesting to watch the layers of sound being constructed through the interviews.  I am looking forward to the second performance for the school age audience on Tuesday.

Not the scariest part of the program though!  I’ve never played a concert before where the conductor arrived and departed by casket.  Totally up there with Darth Vader in the drive-through window at Wendy’s.  Altogether a spooky day.
