How do I improve my musicianship?

How do I improve my musicianship?

The fastest way to improve as a musician is to play with other people. Other musicians force you to listen to how you fit into a bigger picture.  Immediately you become more aware of pitch and rhythm. Matching the correct style becomes a concern. Learning how to work with others is a valuable life skill. It doesn’t matter if you are the best player, the worst player or somewhere in between. Learning to play with others helps you to develop. It takes time to learn to lead and follow and give cues to people around you.

An easy place to start? Play duets with a friend.

There are always things to learn being in a group. Playing duets with someone is a good way to start the experience.
