Op. 126 is a collection of 22 short duets for two cellos. The pieces are musical and fun to play. The top part can be played in first position. The lower part is more demanding, but very accessible.
A number of new arrangements are available so that violinists and violists can enjoy the duets. In order to keep the range similar, the top violin part will require some position work. Nothing is higher than third position. There is also a piano version so a mixed ensemble can enjoy the pieces.
If you’d like to get your own copy, the violin version, viola version, cello version and piano version are available here.
To listen to the duets, here is a piano playlist. To hear the parts individually, use this playlist. Would you like to hear what Duet 1 sounds like with viola and cello? Here’s a video.
