Write a Duet

1. Print the staff paper.
2. Draw your clef at the beginning of the first staff. Draw the clef for your second instrument at the beginning of the second staff.
3. Draw your time signature for both instruments.  For this project you want to keep the measures aligned in both instruments. Plan for your barlines to be able to connect between the parts.
4. Pick a scale you can play well. Using notes from your scale, fill 8 measures with your notes in one part. Begin and end your part with the first note of the scale. For the second part, look closely at the first part. Measures that have notes 1,3, and 5 in the scale will sound better with the second part also using some of those notes. Measures that have notes 4, 6, and 8 will work will combined with some of those notes in the second part. Perhaps you have a measure with notes 5, 7, or 2, use similar notes in the second part.  Put a double barline at the end of your song.
5. Add a title.

Be ready to play it and bring it to your lesson. (50 points)
